“My mother was a model and my father is in the entertainment business- a pretty well known radio personality/actor, Shadoe Stevens. I grew up seeing what being an actor was like. My dad was on a sitcom, so I was on the set. My dad was into radio, so I knew a lot about music. My parents always say that I came out of the womb dancing and performing. I always was someone who liked to put on shows and stuff, and as a kid I would set up shows during our holidays, and I’d make all my cousins be part of it. I would direct, produce and star. We would dance and sing, and do gymnastics and fashion shows, and silly stuff like that. So I kind of just always loved performing. I started playing piano when I was 4 years old, and I always thought that’s what I would end up doing.”

“I grew up in Los Angeles and I went to high school at Beverly Hills High. I was obsessed with student council, I randomly got into it because my freshman English teacher was the leader for student council. She was like, “You should do this. It’s fun. We go on trips.” I’m like, “Okay.” Then, it just turned into this love of my school and the student body and wanting to make sure that everyone’s experience in high school was memorable and fun and they had cool parties that they could remember for the rest of their lives and stuff like that. My goal in being in student council was that I wanted to make everyone more involved in school and create memories for everyone. Also while I was in high school, I worked the Bar/Bat Mitzvah circuit. I had a friend that would DJ the parties and would hire me to help entertain the kids, dance with them and run the games they’d play. I loved it!”

“Growing up in the industry definitely influenced my decision to give acting a try. I began modeling when I was in the seventh grade, just doing shoots for catalogues: Target, Macy’s, Seventeen Magazine, YM Magazine ( agh, remember that one?! ) & other teen publications. Eventually that turned into commercial acting. The first commercial I was in was for Old Navy, and then, in the few years after that, I did three or four more Old Navy commercials. As I got older, I realized that I have multiple talents, and I decided that acting would be something really fun for me to do, and something I was really interested in. So, after I graduated, I started taking acting classes and threw myself into it.”

“This is a career I’ve just fallen into and we’ve fallen madly in love. When I was seventeen one day I met a manager, Robert Enriquez, and he asked me to read a scene with someone in the office. He saw me do my thing and told me that he wanted to manage me as an actress. He’s still my manager to this day, and my best friend!
So it was hard in the beginning, I had to like, go to acting classes at Groundlings, which is world famous for working with huge name comedians, and I learned a lot from them about how to think on your feet and trust your instincts. Most of the time, if you just trust your instincts and don’t doubt what you’re going to do next, it’s probably funny. So, there were some skills that I had to learn, but then I realized, I got really comfortable with it and just started to love it. I still can’t believe I’m an actress, it doesn’t seem real. I’m just gonna keep at it until the universe tells me otherwise!”

“ I originally thought I’d try to be a singer but I quickly realized it was too vulnerable of a space for me. I had a friend that I was writing a lot of music with, at one time, and I’d love to get all that stuff produced. And, maybe one day, I will go on some sort of tour, or something. That’s another goal of mine that I’d love to accomplish. Music is something I never want to give up, but we’ll see what happens.”

“Back in 2010 I started my blog Amber Eats LA. Honestly I started it because I was eating at new restaurant almost daily but have the WORST memory in the history of the world. My friends were constantly asking me where they should go but I couldn’t remember! So, the blog is just a place for me to write down where I’ve eaten and a directory for friends and fans to go when they’re looking for a new spot to check out. I’ve been bad at keeping up with it though..oops!”

“I’m best friends with everyone in my family. We all get along so great and I’m grateful to have them in my life. That’s probably the thing I’m most grateful for. I really have no complains, life is good! I just have one goal: to have a family. Everything else that happens is just a bonus.”
